Philosophy

The preschool program at St. Alphonsus uses the Montessori method and Catholic principles to allow each child to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually at his or her own pace.  We strive to develop a student who has a good self-image, respects the rights of others, sees the wonders of God in the world around him or her, and is a self-learner.

Staff

The program is organized under the leadership of an Early Childhood certified teacher with assistance from teacher aides.

Ms. Moya Blair grew up in the Seattle area.  She has earned a B.A. from Washington State University and an Early Childhood certificate, specializing in Montessori, from the University of Puget Sound.  She has been our Preschool teacher since starting the program in 2000.

Awarded by St. Alphonsus Parish School, Ms. Blair was the 2009 recipient of the Elizabeth Ann Seton Award that recognizes outstanding teaching service at our school.
